Weeping Water came tearing into Thursday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.3 points), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single point of losing the streak, but they secured a 45-44 W against the Elmwood-Murdock Knights. This was a revenge game for the Indians: when they faced off against the Knights back in January, they had to take a 64-34 defeat.

Weeping Water's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kalison Miller, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Weeping Water is 9-1 when Miller posts eight or more boards, but 5-6 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Kaylea Mccaulley, who went 8-for-20 to rack up 15 points.

Weeping Water smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in four consecutive matches.

Elmwood-Murdock's loss came despite strong showings from Brooke Goudie and Brooklyn Mans. Goudie went 5-for-12 en route to 12 points and five assists, while Mans went 5-for-10 on her way to 16 points. Annie Backemeyer was another key player, putting up six points.

Weeping Water's victory bumped their record up to 14-7. As for Elmwood-Murdock, their loss dropped their record down to 13-6.

Weeping Water has already played their next game, a 41-28 win against Freeman on the 8th. As for Elmwood-Murdock, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 59-35 victory against Johnson County Central on the 8th.
