Baseball Recap: South Bend Saint Joseph Starts off Right with Win over Warsaw

South Bend Saint Joseph had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They had just enough and edged out the Warsaw Tigers 9-7. That's more bragging rights for the Huskies, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Jacob Snyder looked comfortable as he pitched 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Joe Washburn was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of A.J. LaSane, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Bend Saint Joseph will host Concord at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Warsaw, they will welcome Jimtown at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
