Baseball Recap: North Clarion Wolves vs. Karns City Gremlins
North Clarion had lost seven straight at home dating back to last season, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 0-11 to make it eight. They came up short against the Karns City Gremlins, falling 17-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wolves of the 10-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.
As for Karns City, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games.
For Karns City's part, Mason Sherwin was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Sherwin has posted since back in May of 2024. Brennan Harmon also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Looking ahead, North Clarion will welcome Brockway at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wolves are facing the Rovers at the right time seeing as the Rovers are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Karns City, they will head out to challenge Moniteau at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
