Basketball Game Preview: Wakefield Cardinals vs. Hurley Northstars

The Wakefield Cardinals will head out on the road to challenge the Hurley Northstars at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. Wakefield will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Hurley against Lac Courte Oreilles on Tuesday as the team secured a 72-31 victory. The Northstars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Hurley's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.7 points per game. As for Wakefield, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Things could have been worse for Wakefield, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 77-58 loss to Hurley in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can Wakefield avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
