Baseball Game Preview: McKinney Lions vs. Plano Wildcats

For the first time this season, McKinney will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup on Friday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as McKinney Lions face off against Plano Wildcats at 7:30 p.m.

Things were looking good for McKinney after they put the first points on the board on Wednesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Plano by a score of 9-8. The Lions haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Tyson Todd and Matt Morris did some serious damage despite the final result: Todd scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances, while Morris went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI. The dominant performance gave Morris a new career-high in hits. Another player making a difference was Eldrick Ramos, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

The win (which was Plano's sixth in a row) raised their record to 7-3. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for McKinney, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.
