Football Recap: Naselle Piles Up the Points Against Chief Leschi + How To Watch

Naselle won the last time they faced Chief Leschi and things went their way on Friday too. The Comets claimed a resounding 58-8 win over the Warriors. The Comets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by 44 points or more this season.

Eli Gardner had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 103 yards and two scores on only six carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Gus Burkhalter, who rushed for 77 yards and one touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Naselle was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 312 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.

The victory (which was Naselle's fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-1. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 10.5 points on average over those games. As for Chief Leschi, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.

Looking ahead, Naselle will face off against Taholah at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Comets will be up against the Chitwhins' rather soft defense (which has allowed 49.2 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Chief Leschi, they will take on Wahkiakum at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors will need to watch out since the Mules have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
