Basketball Game Preview: Highland Hornets vs. Archbishop Hoban Knights

The Highland Hornets will square off against the Archbishop Hoban Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Highland sitting on 25 straight victories and Archbishop Hoban on nine.

Highland is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Copley 49-47. Given the Hornets' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 20th, while the Indians are ranked 79th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Archbishop Hoban beat Padua Franciscan 53-46 on Saturday.

Highland's victory was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 25-0. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points over those games. As for Archbishop Hoban, their win bumped their record up to 22-2.

Highland came up short against Archbishop Hoban in their previous matchup back in February of 2020, falling 32-28. Can Highland avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
