Softball Recap: Decatur Takes a Loss

Decatur was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They fell 6-2 to the Greenwood Gators.

Decatur saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luna Gutierrez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Lizzie Kresch also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Decatur's loss dropped their record down to 2-22. As for Greenwood, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-1.

Coming up, Decatur will face off against James Clemens at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Jets will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last. As for Greenwood, they are taking a road trip to challenge Lafayette at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. The Generals will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something the Gators surely won't give up without a fight.
