Recap: Columbus Blue Devils vs. Carver Tigers

After flying high against the Kendrick Cherokees back in December of 2023, the Columbus Blue Devils came back down to earth. Columbus was beaten by Carver 80-28 on Thursday. Columbus was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-16.

Columbus lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Sanaa Hicks, who scored five points along with 13 rebounds and three steals. Hicks hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Sydney Foster, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and two steals.

Aubri Wilkins continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Carver, scoring 19 points along with three steals. Nicole Baldwin was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with two steals.

Columbus has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Carver, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 8-4.

Columbus will take on Dougherty at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Dougherty will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. As for Carver, Carver and Palm Bay will face off at 6:15 p.m. on January 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Palm Bay is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 51.3 points per game.
