Volleyball Recap: Bluffton's Loss Ends 11-Game Winning Streak at Home

If Bluffton was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Pandora-Gilboa on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Pirates took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Miller City Wildcats on Saturday. The Pirates were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 21-25, 25-13, 25-15.

Libby Hocanson paced Bluffton's offense, picking up ten kills. Hocanson got some help from Camryn Fruchey and her 21 assists. Karlie Lora controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Miller City was led to victory by Payton Michel and Katem Schroeder. Michel had 12 digs and two aces, while Schroeder had 18 assists and seven digs. Those 18 assists gave Schroeder a new career-high.

Bluffton's loss ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-3. As for Miller City, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Bluffton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 victory against Elida on the 26th. As for Miller City, they have also already played their next game, a 3-1 defeat against Tinora on the 26th.
