The Foothill Tech Dragons will challenge the Trinity Classical Academy Knights at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Foothill Tech has given up an average of 7.9 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Foothill Tech is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 15 runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Calabasas on Thursday. They came up short against the Coyotes, falling 19-1.
Foothill Tech saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cooper Casey, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI. Christian DeLa Cruz also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Meanwhile, while Trinity Classical Academy put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Milken. The Knights blew past the Wildcats 11-0. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by eight runs or more this season.
Andrew Carlson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2025. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Samuel Vega, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Quinn Minyard was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run.
Trinity Classical Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Trinity Classical Academy is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Foothill Tech, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Foothill Tech has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Trinity Classical Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
