Softball Recap: Van Takes a Loss

Van was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 7-2 to the Tolsia Rebels. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rebels apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2021.

Layla Albright spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and six unearned) runs on five hits.

At the plate, Van saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hailey Tackett, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.

Van's defeat dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Tolsia, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Rebels beat Van by a score of 14-5 later that day.
