Soccer Recap: Southwestern Randolph Comes Up Short

Southwestern Randolph was the 1-0 winner over Montgomery Central when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Southwestern Randolph Cougars fell just short of the Montgomery Central Timberwolves by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Their goal came courtesy of Kayla Hernandez, which was the first she's scored this season.

Southwestern Randolph's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Montgomery Central, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southwestern Randolph will challenge Asheboro at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Montgomery Central, they will square off against North Stanly at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
