Recap: East Thunderbirds vs. Glenwood Springs Demons

The East Thunderbirds put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They took down Glenwood Springs 65-50. Given East's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked ninth in Wyoming, while Glenwood Springs is ranked 100th in Colorado), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Several Demons players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Argeny Renteria, who scored 16 points. The matchup was Renteria's third in a row with at least ten points. Sim Wenger was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.

East's victory was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.5 points per game. As for Glenwood Springs, they have fallen quite a ways from their 17-8 record last season and are now at 3-5.

East is on the road again on Friday and play against Campbell County at 3:45 p.m. on December 15th. Hopefully Campbell County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 last Saturday. As for Glenwood Springs, they will head out on the road to face off against Resurrection Christian at 7:10 p.m. on Friday.
