Basketball Recap: Houston Math Science & Tech Takes a Loss

Houston Math Science & Tech was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were beaten by the Bellaire Cardinals 71-24. If the Tigers were looking for revenge after losing 77-17 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Roosevelt Paggay and Jereamiah Dorsey certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Paggay posted six points in addition to six rebounds and three steals, while Dorsey had five points. Those six rebounds gave Paggay a new career-high.

Houston Math Science & Tech's loss dropped their record down to 10-16. As for Bellaire, their win was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Houston Math Science & Tech will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Wisdom at 12:30 p.m. on January 25th. As for Bellaire, they will square off against Westside at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Bellaire knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Westside likes a good challenge.
