Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mullins). They strolled past the Lake Marion Gators with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 78-60.
Mullins was led to victory by Deyon Ford and Dakarai Worley. Ford went 11-for-18 en route to 25 points along with five assists and four steals, while Worley almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds. That's the most points Ford has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ernest Ford, who put up eight points in addition to seven boards and three steals.
They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Mullins was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Lake Marion's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carl Capers, who went 6-for-9 on his way to 17 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Capers is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last seven games he's played. Mason Miles was another key player, going 5-for-6 to rack up 13 points and four steals.
Mullins is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season. As for Lake Marion, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-10.
