Baseball Game Preview: Providence School Stallions vs. Ponte Vedra Sharks

The Providence School Stallions will venture away from home to take on the Ponte Vedra Sharks at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ponte Vedra took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Providence School, who comes in off a win.

On Friday, Providence School beat Palatka 7-4.

Luke Manderson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Manderson was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one triple and two RBI.

In other batting news, Providence School let Grant Sheppard and Brody Kraft loose on the outfield. Sheppard went 2-for-4 with one triple and one RBI, while Kraft scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Duva, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Meanwhile, Ponte Vedra came up short against Bolles on Thursday and fell 8-5. The Sharks haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Cole Rambler made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two).

Ponte Vedra's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Providence School, the win also got them back to even at 1-1.

Providence School took their victory against Ponte Vedra in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 13-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for Providence School since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
