Smithfield entered their tilt with Lafayette on Friday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They blew past the Rams 25-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 12-2 back in March.

Cheyenne Debusk was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.

Smithfield was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .725. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .361 or higher in five consecutive matches.

Smithfield's win bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Lafayette, they are on a 36-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-15.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Smithfield will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Tabb at 4:00 p.m. on the 13th. As for Lafayette, they will face off against Jamestown at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
