Basketball Game Preview: Campo Verde Coyotes vs. Chaparral Firebirds

The Campo Verde Coyotes will head out on the road to square off against the Chaparral Firebirds at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

On Tuesday, Campo Verde was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 47-43 to Arizona College Prep. The Coyotes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 61 points the game before, Chaparral was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 78-16 loss at the hands of Notre Dame Prep. The game marked the Firebirds' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Campo Verde's defeat dropped their record down to 13-11. As for Chaparral, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 15 of their last 17 contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 6-17 record this season.

Campo Verde was able to grind out a solid win over Chaparral in their previous matchup back in January, winning 55-47. The rematch might be a little tougher for Campo Verde since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
