Volleyball Recap: Fitchburg Takes a Loss

Fitchburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Assabet Valley RVT Aztecs. The Red Raiders were not able to make up for their defeat to the Aztecs from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Fitchburg's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Assabet Valley RVT, their victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-6.

Fitchburg and Assabet Valley RVT could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Massachusetts Rankings. The Red Raiders (ranked 279th) will meet Ayer Shirley (ranked 110th) at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Assabet Valley RVT will square off against Advanced Math & Science Academy at 4:45 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (212 vs. 48).
