Softball Recap: Eau Gallie Picks Up Tenth Consecutive Victory

With a playoff win on the line, Eau Gallie rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Merritt Island Mustangs. Winning may never get old, but the Commodores sure are getting used to it with their tenth in a row.

Jordan Stout made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Stout was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Leah 'Spike' Pechart was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Evie Martin, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Eau Gallie's win bumped their record up to 23-3. As for Merritt Island, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-15 record this season.

Eau Gallie will challenge Lake Wales at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Commodores' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Highlanders have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season. Merritt Island does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
