Baseball Recap: Penfield Takes a Loss

Penfield lost against Webster Schroeder back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Patriots fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 3-1. The matchup marked the Patriots' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Penfield saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Natale, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Gabe Reyes also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Penfield and nudges their season record down to 3-2. Even worse, they were so close both times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.5 runs. As for Webster Schroeder, they now also have a winning record of 3-2.

Webster Schroeder didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 12-4 loss against McQuaid Jesuit on the 22nd. Hopefully Penfield paid attention to the Warriors' matchup: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Warriors at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
