Baseball Game Preview: Steinbrenner Warriors vs. Plant Panthers

The Steinbrenner Warriors will challenge the Plant Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Steinbrenner 3.6, Plant 2.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Steinbrenner is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Gaither as they made off with a 10-2 win. Considering the Warriors have won eight matches by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Ty Ciccarello, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one double. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.

Steinbrenner kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Meanwhile, Plant had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They skirted past the Hawks 8-6.

URBAN ELLIS was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was DESAN DECAMP, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Steinbrenner has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Plant, their win bumped their record up to 19-6.

Steinbrenner came up short against Plant in their previous matchup back in February, falling 4-1. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
