Baseball Recap: Valley View Comes Up Short

Valley View was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 5-1 to the Lakeside Lancers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lancers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 last Tuesday.

Tyler Bonenfant was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. Valley View is 2-1 when Bonenfant allowstwo or fewer earned runs, but 2-5 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Valley View saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isaiah Dandridge, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.

Valley View's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Lakeside, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-7.

Coming up, Valley View will face off against Orange Vista at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lakeside, they will welcome Cornerstone Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
