Baseball Game Preview: Audubon Green Wave vs. Socastee Braves

The Audubon Green Wave will face off against the Socastee Braves at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Audubon's pitching crew has only allowed 2.3 runs per game this season, so Socastee's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Audubon and Collingswood meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Thursday. The Green Wave put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 7-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Green Wave, who have now won three matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Socastee, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past St. James 5-3. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Braves as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Jace Crowther was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Sam Musser also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Audubon's record now sits at 6-1. As for Socastee, their record is now 3-15.
