Platte County had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against the Chillicothe Hornets by a score of 49-42 on Thursday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Pirates also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2021.

Several Hornets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Turner Jackson, who posted 18 points. Another player making a difference was Jaishon White, who shot 60% from the field to rack up 17 points and seven boards.

Chillicothe's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Coming up, Platte County will face off against Raytown at 7:00 p.m. on the 12th. As for Chillicothe, they will challenge Trenton at 7:30 p.m. on the 12th.
