Basketball Recap: Scotland Snaps Ten-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Scotland won the last time they faced Dillon Christian, and Jerrison Dixon did his part to make sure it happened again. Everything went the Scotland Fighting Scots' way against the Dillon Christian Warriors on Saturday as the Scotland Fighting Scots made off with a 62-36 win thanks in part to Dixon, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 22 points in addition to six boards and three steals. The contest was his third in a row with at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of LaSean Pittman, who posted 11 points and seven rebounds. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Dillon Christian's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jackson Outlar, who had 17 points and five rebounds, and Reese Bracey, who put up five points. Bracey is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season.

Scotland's victory ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-6. As for Dillon Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-7.

Scotland wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 62-53 loss against Cheraw on the 4th. As for Dillon Christian, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Pee Dee Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 7th. Pee Dee Academy will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Dillon Christian surely won't give up without a fight.
