Baseball Recap: Hot Springs Takes a Loss

Hot Springs lost against Cobre on Saturday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Tigers fell just short of the Indians by a score of 9-8. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

James Oros Fuentes led a balanced group of hitters, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Hunter Montoya, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Hot Springs dropped their record down to 5-10-1 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Cobre, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hot Springs will venture away from home to challenge West Las Vegas at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Cobre, they will face off against Tularosa at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Indians surely won't give up without a fight.
