Softball Game Preview: St. Scholastica Doves vs. St. Thomas Aquinas Falcons

The St. Scholastica Doves will challenge the St. Thomas Aquinas Falcons at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither St. Scholastica nor St. Thomas Aquinas posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Last Thursday, St. Scholastica came up short against Lakeshore and fell 7-2.

Meanwhile, St. Thomas Aquinas was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 20-2 to Northlake Christian.

St. Thomas Aquinas saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rylie Inzinna, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI. That triple was Inzinna's first of the season. Another was Ava Berthelot, who scored a run and stole two bases.

St. Scholastica now has a losing record of 7-8. As for St. Thomas Aquinas, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-11.

Tuesday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. St. Scholastica has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .460. However, it's not like St. Thomas Aquinas struggles in that department as they've averaged .438. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
