Recap: Casa Grande Cougars vs. Apollo Hawks
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Casa Grande Cougars, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They took a serious blow against Apollo on Thursday, falling 56-21. Casa Grande was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-7.
Adam Mohammed was his usual excellent self, rushing for 192 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 11.3 yards per carry. Mohammed has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last eight times he's played.
Casa Grande's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Apollo, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-1.
Casa Grande does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Apollo will look to defend their home field on November 17th against Campo Verde at 7:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Campo Verde is ranked 41st, while Apollo is ranked 31st).
