Basketball Game Preview: Ravenwood Raptors vs. Independence Eagles

The Ravenwood Raptors will venture away from home to take on the Independence Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ravenwood is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.

Ravenwood is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Page on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Ravenwood lost 64-40 to Page. While losing is never fun, the Raptors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 225th, while the Patriots are ranked 28th).

Meanwhile, Independence unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They came up short against Nolensville, falling 57-37. The game marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Ravenwood's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Independence, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 6-3.

Ravenwood came up short against Independence when the teams last played back in February, falling 56-52. Can Ravenwood avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
