Preview: Nease Panthers vs. Stanton Blue Devils

Having just played yesterday, the Nease Panthers will get right back to it and host the Stanton Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

On Thursday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Nease beat Creekside 55-49.

Nease's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but McKenna Owens led the charge by scoring 16 points along with seven steals and five rebounds. Shruthika Kondabrolu was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Stanton posted their closest victory yet this season on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 63-60 win over First Coast.

It was another big night for Gabrielle Fajardo, who scored 22 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Catherine Brewer, who scored 14 points.

Nease pushed their record up to 12-10 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Stanton, their win bumped their record up to 7-9.

Everything came up roses for Nease against Stanton when the teams last played back in December of 2014 as the team secured a 71-24 win. With Nease ahead 49-14 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
