Basketball Recap: Jeremiah Brooks' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Greenwood over Mauldin

Greenwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 53-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mauldin Mavericks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mavericks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 53-45 back in December of 2024.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jeremiah Brooks, who posted 13 points. Another player making a difference was Jay Duncan, who had 11 points.

Mauldin can attribute much of their success to Nathan Wilbourne, who earned 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alverez Smith, who scored eight points.

Greenwood's defeat dropped their record down to 14-11. As for Mauldin, their victory bumped their record up to 17-9.

As of now, neither Greenwood nor Mauldin have any future games scheduled.
