Basketball Recap: Jake Dedominces' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Irondale over Park

Irondale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 62-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Park Wolfpack. The Knights were probably out for revenge after losing 76-67 to them when the teams met back in February, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Irondale lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jake Dedominces, who went 9 for 21 on his way to 18 points and six rebounds. The contest was Dedominces' 14th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Richard Russell, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 15 points.

Irondale's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Park, their win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-3.

When Irondale and Park next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Irondale will try to stop Spring Lake Park's three-game winning streak when the meet at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Irondale is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.2 points per game this season. Similarly, Park will try to stop St. Paul Academy-Summit's four-game winning streak when the meet at 12:00 p.m. on December 27th.
