Softball Recap: Sabetha Takes a Loss

Sabetha was the 14-4 winner over Nemaha Central when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Bluejays fell just short of the Thunder by a score of 4-3 on Monday. The Bluejays have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Chloe Detweiler spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four runs (all of which were unearned) on four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Regan Hasenkamp was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and two RBI. Krysta Menold was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Sabetha's loss dropped their record down to 5-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Nemaha Central beat the Bluejays by a score of 14-2 later that day.
