Basketball Game Preview: Holy Trinity Catholic Crusaders vs. Mediapolis Bulldogs

The Holy Trinity Catholic Crusaders will venture away from home to face off against the Mediapolis Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Holy Trinity Catholic will bounce into Tuesday's game after beating New London, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Holy Trinity Catholic blew past New London, posting a 74-24 victory. Given the Crusaders' advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 19th, while the Tigers are ranked 310th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Mediapolis entered their tilt with Central Lee on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Hawks 67-47. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 20 points or more this season.

The win (which was alsoHoly Trinity Catholic's third in a row) raised their record to 6-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.7 points per game. As for Mediapolis, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.

Everything came up roses for Holy Trinity Catholic against Mediapolis when the teams last played back in January of 2024, as the squad secured a 56-29 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Holy Trinity Catholic since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
