Wellsville picks up seventh straight win on the road

Recap: Wellsville Eagles vs. Baldwin Bulldogs

The Wellsville Eagles came tearing into Wednesday's contest with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 62-55 victory over Baldwin. Given Wellsville's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 17th, while Baldwin is ranked 82nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Baldwin's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cooper Carr, who scored 20 points along with six assists and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Colton Collum, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds.

Wellsville's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-1. As for Baldwin, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-2.

Wellsville will head out on the road to challenge Augusta on Friday. As for Baldwin, they will be playing at home against Bishop Seabury Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bishop Seabury Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 552 points over their last eight matches.
