Basketball Recap: Pocomoke Takes a Loss

Pocomoke lost against Parkside back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Pocomoke Warriors were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 67-66 to the Parkside Rams. While the Warriors didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Rams 29-21 in the first quarter.

When it comes to explaining why Pocomoke lost, don't look at JAYDEN MASON. Despite the final result, he on his way to 22 points and eight boards. The dominant performance gave MASON a new career-high in points. ZYMIERE WALKER was another key player, putting up 14 points and eight rebounds.

Even though they lost, Pocomoke smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 14 offensive boards in 26 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Pocomoke has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 11 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.0 points over those games. Parkside has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-10 record this season.

As of now, neither Pocomoke nor Parkside have any future games scheduled.
