Baseball Recap: Wilkes Central Takes a Loss

Wilkes Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 7-4 to the East Surry Cardinals. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-3 last Tuesday.

Wilkes Central's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for East Surry, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-5.

Wilkes Central didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-5 defeat against North Wilkes on the 25th. As for East Surry, they have also already played their next game, a 3-2 win against North Stokes on the 24th.
