Softball Game Preview: South Bend Adams Eagles vs. Mishawaka Marian Knights

For the second straight game, South Bend Adams will face off against Mishawaka Marian. The Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Knights at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.

On Friday, South Bend Adams got the win against Mishawaka Marian by a conclusive 11-1. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Knights: they've now won six in a row.

Angela McNellis made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Avery Kidwell was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three doubles, four RBI, and one run. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Audreyana Gizzi was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
