While Friday's victory was certainly a team effort, someone pulling more than their own weight was underclassman Aliyah Herndon. On Friday she almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds. The effort marked the most points she has had since back in December of 2024. She has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last 12 times she's played.

Looking ahead, Herndon and Southern School of Energy and Sustainability will face off against Granville Central at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Spartans got just the result they wanted when they last faced the Panthers thanks in part to Herndon: she dropped a double-double with 15 points and 15 rebounds.
