Recap: Palmetto Panthers vs. Coral Gables Cavaliers
The Palmetto Panthers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They really took it to Coral Gables for the full four quarters, racking up a 63-18 win on the road. That looming 63-18 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Palmetto yet this season.
Palmetto was led to victory by Sami Anes and Ale Falcon. Anes dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds, while Falcon dropped a double-double on 26 points and 15 rebounds. The contest was Falcon's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kailey Gonzalez-Quevedo, who scored six points along with four steals.
Despite the loss, Coral Gables had strong showings from Sela Pe?a, who scored seven points, and Savannah Villarreal, who scored five points.
Palmetto's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Coral Gables, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
Palmetto won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart at 5:00 p.m. on December 14th. Coral Gables will be home for the holidays to greet North Miami at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
