Softball Recap: Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary Comes Up Short

Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary was the 20-2 winner over Mary Star of the Sea when they last played one another last Tuesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Cardinals fell just short of the Stars by a score of 4-3 on Thursday. That's two games in a row now that the Cardinals have lost by just one run.

This is the second loss in a row for Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary and nudges their season record down to 6-8. Even worse, they were so close both times: the defeats came by an average of only one runs. As for Mary Star of the Sea, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-7.

Looking ahead, Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary will challenge Bishop Montgomery at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cardinals will need to watch out since the Knights have now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests. As for Mary Star of the Sea, they will square off against St. Monica at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
