Soccer Game Preview: Avonworth vs. Wheeling Park

The Avonworth Antelopes will square off against the Wheeling Park Patriots at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Avonworth's offense. They fell just short of Central Valley by a score of 1-0 on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Wheeling Park faced East Fairmont in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Patriots took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bees. The loss was Wheeling Park's first of the season.

Avonworth's defeat ended a four-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-7-1. As for Wheeling Park, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 13-1-1.
