Softball Recap: Dover Comes Up Short

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three games, Dover finally came back down to earth on Thursday. They lost 12-0 to the Pine Plains Bombers. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Dragons were not able to get on the board.

Dover saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jolie Green, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Dover's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Pine Plains, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dover will welcome Pawling at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Pine Plains, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Watkins Glen/Odessa-Montour at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Bombers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Storm have averaged an impressive 10.8 runs per game this season.
