Volleyball Recap: Stamford Falls Short of Darien in the Playoffs

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Stamford couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Darien Blue Wave on Wednesday. The Black Knights were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Blue Wave earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

Stamford started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-19, 25-22, 28-26.

This is the second loss in a row for Stamford and nudges their season record down to 18-5. As for Darien, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season.

Stamford does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Darien, they have already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Maloney on the 6th.
