Volleyball Recap: Cheney Comes Up Short

The Cheney Blackhawks didn't have quite enough to beat the Seton Catholic Cougars on Saturday and fell 2-1.

Cheney might've come up short, but they didn't make it easy on Seton Catholic: every set was decided by two points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 23-25, 15-13.

Seton Catholic found their leader in sophomore Sofia Southwick, who had 17 assists and five digs.

Cheney's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 12-9-1. As for Seton Catholic, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5-2 record this season.

Cheney didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against East Valley on the 14th. As for Seton Catholic, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-2 win against Kalama on the 14th.
