Soccer Game Preview: Stanhope Elmore vs. Alabama Christian Academy

The Stanhope Elmore Mustangs will venture away from home to square off against the Alabama Christian Academy Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Stanhope Elmore is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Pelham just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 3-2.

Meanwhile, Alabama Christian Academy hasn't lost a match since February 7th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Prattville Christian Academy with a sharp 4-0 victory. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by three goals or more this season.

Alabama Christian Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-1-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 20 goals over those five games. Stanhope Elmore's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3-1.

Everything went Stanhope Elmore's way against Alabama Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as Stanhope Elmore made off with an 8-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Stanhope Elmore since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
