Volleyball Recap: Janai Townes Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Lithonia

Southwest DeKalb won the last time they faced Lithonia and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Panthers came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 2-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Southwest DeKalb easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-9.

Southwest DeKalb got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Janai Townes out in front who had eight aces and four assists. That's the most aces Townes has posted over her last four matchups. The team also got some help courtesy of Jah'Tima Jackson, who had six aces.

Southwest DeKalb's victory bumped their record up to 14-11. As for Lithonia, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-12.

Southwest DeKalb didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Redan on the 24th. As for Lithonia, they have also already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Stephenson on the 24th.
