Basketball Game Preview: Cambridge City Lincoln Golden Eagles vs. Tri Titans

The Cambridge City Lincoln Golden Eagles will square off against the Tri Titans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Cambridge City Lincoln is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.7 points per game this season.

Cambridge City Lincoln is headed into Friday's matchup hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight defeats. They were beaten by Northeastern 77-48 on Thursday. The game marked the Golden Eagles' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Dustin Lunsford, who posted eight points in addition to six assists and five rebounds. That's the most assists he has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Dustin Irwin, who had nine points.

Meanwhile, Tri had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.8 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Saturday. They snuck past the Raiders with a 46-40 win.

Tri found their leader in freshman Bryan Kinder, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 12 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Gracen Huffman, who put up eight points.

Tri's victory bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Cambridge City Lincoln, their loss dropped their record down to 7-3.

Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as the two teams are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Cambridge City Lincoln hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 55.7 points per game. However, it's not like Tri struggles in that department as they've been averaging 56.5 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
